US container import volumes are expected to decline in the first half of 2026 as ongoing tariff uncertainty disrupts trade and complicates demand forecasting, according to Global Port Tracker.
Monthly projections show year-on-year drops through April, with partial recovery later due to last year's weak base.
Overall H1 imports are forecast at 12.27 million TEU, about 2 per cent below 2025 levels.
