While the delegation accompanying the British PM during his China visit was weighted towards large services firms, British Chambers of Commerce economist Jun Du feels China as a source of tech-embedded intermediate imports can help UK manufacturers upgrade by accessing capabilities that don't exist domestically.
The reset should create pathways for the UK SMEs that don't yet have alternatives, he noted.
