European Parliament has approved EU rules limiting worker exposure to dangerous substances, including carcinogens and 1,4-dioxane used in chemical and textile production. It was endorsed 499-49, with 104 abstentions, covering cobalt, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and isoprene. EU states get two years from entry into force to transpose the directive, with longer transitions for some limits.
