Germany's bioPEtex project is developing textiles from 100 per cent bio-based polyethylene (PE), with BB Engineering advancing industrial spinning and texturising alongside RWTH Aachen and partners.
Initial results, including a white T-shirt prototype, highlight lightweight, durable and recyclable yarns with cooling comfort, offering a cost-efficient, sustainable option for sports and technical textiles.
