Pakistan has recorded a 10.85 per cent increase year-on-year in cotton arrivals at ginneries in the country as on April 1, 2015. A total of 14.838 million bales have arrived compared to last year’s total of 13.385 million bales, according to the a report on cotton arrivals, prepared by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners’ Association (PCGA), in cooperation with All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) and the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA).
In Punjab province, the total cotton arrivals grew 12.87 per cent year-on-year to 10.864 million bales, according to the data. In Sindh province, cotton arrivals increased by 5.70 per cent to 3.974 million bales as on April 1 during the ongoing cotton season 2014-15.
Of the total arrival of 14.838 million bales, 14.829 million bales were pressed by ginners, of which 14.389 million bales were sold, leaving an unsold stock of 0.44 million bales with the ginners, as on April 1.
