Pakistani Firms Sign 63 Deals Worth $245 mn At Karachi Expo
Pakistani textile companies recently signed 63 deals worth $245 million with foreign firms, according to organisers of the 19th Textile Asia Exhibition that concluded in Karachi last week. With agreements worth $150 million, Chinese companies had the greatest share. Event management company E-Commerce Gateway organised the three-day exhibition.
China’s representation was 60 per cent, 30 per cent participants were from Europe and the rest from other countries, according to Pakistani media reports.
Embroidery, digital printing, metallic yarn, fabric, blankets, buttons, lace and other industrial units signed the deals at the exhibition supported by the Sindh government and the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).
Next year, Chinese entrepreneurs would double the volume of deals, said LI Yang, vice division director, department of commerce, Zhejiang province, China. Around 150 companies from the province participated in the event, which was attended by 450 companies and 1,200 foreign delegates.
