Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park Project: Initial Design Of Master Plan Approved:

Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting here on Friday which reviewed the progress on Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park Project. The meeting gave approval to the initial design of the master plan of the project. The Chief Minister said that the project of Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park will prove to be a milestone in the development of textile and garments sector. He said that Punjab government has allocated 1567 acres land for this mega project that will result in provision of job opportunities to lakhs of people. 

He said that the project will also result in increase in exports in textile and garments sector. He said that a labour colony, textile institute, commercial center, exhibition center and a hospital will also been constructed in the state-of-the-art Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park.

The Chief Minister reprimanded the authorities concerned over delay in some matters and said that every moment is important with regard to the project. Shahbaz Sharif said that he only wants work and those showing lethargy have no right to stay on their posts. He further said that the project will not only result in job opportunities but also help in developing quality skilled manpower for textile and garment sector.

He said that keeping in view this fact, Punjab government is also setting up a modern technical center in the park. Shahbaz Sharif directed authorities concerned to complete the project expeditiously and the institutions concerned should work in an efficient manner. He said that the construction of boundary wall and other work should be completed at early as possible and Provincial Minister for Labour and Minister for Industry should personally supervise the performance of concerned departments as well as the pace of the project.

He said that best facilities will be provided to industrialists and investors in Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park as this state-of-the-art project having investment of billions of rupees will accelerate the process of industrialisation. Provincial Ministers Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Muhammad Shafiq, Chief Secretary, Chairman Planning & Development, concerned secretaries, CEO of the Chinese company that designed the project and Chinese authorities attended the meeting.
