Indian Cotton Textile exhibition held in Dubai

The Indian Cotton Textile exhibition was launched successfully in Dubai, organized by The Cotton Textiles Export Promotion Council of India (Texprocil), in association with the Indian Embassy & Consulate General in UAE, and hosted by the India Trade & Exhibition Centre (ITEC).

The two-day exhibition showcasing India’s finest cotton products was aimed at providing a platform for buyers and sellers, and creating a market base in the UAE and gulf regions.
The event was inaugurated by Anurag Bhushan, Consul General of India to the UAE, in the presence of A. Ravi Kumar, joint director of Texprocil; Sripriyaa Kumaria, director general of ITEC; and Ram Bhagchandani, honorary chairman of Texmas,.

Anurag Bhushan mentioned that such industry-specific events will foster trade beyond traditional and customary goods between India and the UAE. He also mentioned that the Indian Consulate in Dubai will support ITEC in conducting many such industry specific events in 2015.

Kumaria noted that the buyer-seller meet was a unique platform for buyers and sellers to build up linkages and network with the best of the Indian textile industry.

She said that the buyer turnout from the UAE for the two day event constituted nearly 41.9 per cent in cotton textiles, 33.8 per cent in cotton fabrics, 10 per cent in cotton madeups, and eight per cent in cotton yarns.

Texprocil has been the international face of cotton textiles from India facilitating exports worldwide. Its membership base of about 3,500 companies spread across major textile clusters in India are well established manufacturers and exporters of cotton textile products like cotton yarn, fabrics and home textiles.
